Expert in compiling the Handbook “Instructions on techniques for propagation, planting, care and collection of some medicinal plants in Ba Vi mountains”.
1. General introduction
- Project name: “Biodiversity Initiatives of Medicinal Genetic Resources for Forest-based Livelihoods of the Dao Ethnic Minority in Ba Vi, Hanoi”
- Funding agency: Fund for Local Cooperation (FLC), The Embassy of Finland
- Implementation agency: Center for Agricultural Research & Ecological Studies (CARES), Vietnam
- Project objective: Develop and implement an Action Plan to conserve the genetic diversity of 26 medicinal plants listed in the Vietnam Red Book through the development of traditional medicine-based livelihoods of the Dao community in Ba Vi commune, Ba Vi district, Hanoi city
To achieve the set goals and within the framework of the project’s activities, Center for Agricultural Research & Ecological Studies (CARES) – Vietnam National University of Agriculture needs to recruit 02 experts to compile the Handbook “Technical manual for propagation, planting, tending and collecting some medicinal plants in Ba Vi mountain”- is the basis of training materials and sharing techniques for local people and the professional community.
2. Job content
- Compilation of 01 handbooks “Technical instructions for propagation, planting, care, and collection of some medicinal plants in Ba Vi mountain area”.
- The handbook has specific, detailed, concise, and easy-to-understand content for readers.
- The successful handbook must be approved by the FLC project to be widely disseminated and shared.
3. Require professional qualifications with consultants
- Having a Master’s degree or higher, and majoring in agriculture;
- Having knowledge and experience in compiling documents and manuals on planting, caring for, and collecting medicinal plants;
- Have a general understanding of techniques of propagation, planting and care of medicinal plants;
- Experience in participating in projects and topics on the development of medicinal plants in the country.
4. Responsibilities of consultants
- Work/discussion with FLC Project Coordinator to understand the purpose and expected results of the work;
- Studying relevant documents and reports provided by the project and related documents;
- Developing and compiling the framework and detailed content of the handbook;
- Finalize the handbook as required after receiving comments and feedback from experts and the Project Management Board.
5. Responsibilities of the Center for Agricultural Research & Ecological Studies
- Provide relevant documents at the request of the consultant;
- Feedback and suggestions for the content and completion of the handbook;
- Consult and synthesize feedback from stakeholders for experts to complete the handbook;
- Public payment for book compilation is paid according to the approved budget norms.
